Morphett Vale Baptist Church (MVBC) has existed for more than 100 years. Over the years, it has been a strong church in the southern area of Adelaide.
In 1982, Barry & Janet Manuel commenced their time as senior pastors at MVBC, with a strong call and renewed desire to see the church grow in the understanding of the Holy Spirit.
The church embraced them, and a corporate openness to the Holy Spirit and His infilling grew – which is one of the most important points in MVBC’s history...
Over the 28 years, Barry & Janet led the church through the establishment of Southern Vales Christian College, two large new building phases, the Cornerstone (an outreach centre to the community) and many programs, events, courses and conferences.
The past conferences of MVBC each January have become known nationally for their freedom in the Holy Spirit, and speakers who are revival seekers. Such speakers have included: Rolland and Heidi Baker, Jim Hylton, Tommy Tenny, Claudio Freidzon, Danny Styene, Larry Taylor, Gary Oates and many others.
This openness and seeking of revival through the presence of the Holy Spirit dug a deep well of hunger in MVBC for all that God has for us as believers. MVBC has seen many come and be refreshed and released into all parts of Australia and even around the globe.
In 2009/10, Barry & Janet handed the baton on to their son and daughter-in-law, Martyn & Kerryn Manuel, who are now the senior pastors.
Under their new leadership, Martyn & Kerryn are continuing and deepening the heart of MVBC to be a people of the Father’s Love, Healing, Revival and seeking to release this globally...
