WE WELCOME SALLY BENNIE AS OUR NEW COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR
Mrs Sally Bennie - Community Services Director.
Sally comes to The Cornerstone after thirty years as a Registered Nurse and many years of various community involvements. She has a desire to see others grow in their faith and has a Bachelor of Theology and Post Graduate Diploma in Ministry. Together with her husband Bruce, she has a passion to share her faith and see the transformation that comes as lives are impacted by the love of Jesus.

The
Cornerstone is the outreach arm of the Morphett Vale
Baptist Church. It is managed by Sally Bennie
supported by a large team of volunteers from the church
and local community.

What is the philosophy
behind Community Services?
To
honour the Lord Jesus in all that we do.
The Cornerstone is an expression of the love of Jesus. Our basic philosophy is love, trust and respect of all. We believe Jesus is the answer to all the problems
in our community. We endeavour to present the whole
gospel, to see people saved, healed and receive their
miracle, to feed the hungry and clothe the naked - that people may meet Jesus in us and through us.
Apostle John said (1 John 3:17-19) "If anyone
has material possessions and sees his brother in need
but has no pity on him how can the love of God be
in him? Dear children let us not love with words or
tongue but with actions in truth." We take these
words seriously. We hold the family in high regard
realising the pressure and disadvantage poverty places
on the family. Community Services endeavours to support
the family spiritually, emotionally and practically
to care for the whole person, so that our families
can function as God intended them to.

Coffee n Chat
A friendly drop-in place where all are welcome for a meal, snack and/or a chat. We extend trust to people to 'Pay what you feel your meal is worth'.
Come in and enjoy fellowship.
Open Monday to Friday.
Morning Tea: 10.00am - 11.30am
Lunch: 12.00 midday - 1.30pm
Afternoon Tea: 1.30pm - 3.00pm |

Lydia's Op Shop
New and secondhand garments, shoes, bric-a-brac and manchester.
Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. |
Emergency Relief Assistance
Food, finance and/or some material assistance is provided to people in crisis following an assessment. Appointments are available by phone only Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. Clients to ring at 9am for appointments on that day.
Healing Room
Need prayer for any needs?
Need a miracle?
Visit on Tuesdays between 1pm and 3pm.
Biblical Counselling
This is provided for people with personal, relationship or marriage problems. Appointments can be made by phoning 8382 2755.
Life Growth Courses At The Cornerstone

Growing Kids God's Way
A 20 week Parenting Course with 'single parent' and 'blended family' sections included. This is an excellent course to support and encourage parents in bringing up their children. Enquiries please call 8382 2755. |

Drug Proof Your Kids
An educational, prevention and intervention parenting program developed by Focus on the Family. Student participation and sharing of information makes this a very helpful course to support parents.

The Marriage Course
A
very practical course, giving any married couple the
tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that
lasts a lifetime. The course runs over 7 evenings.

Literacy Classes
If you know someone who is disadvantaged because they lack literacy and numeracy skills, please invite them to make enquiries at the Cornerstone by calling 8382 2755.

Programs Operating During School Terms
Playgroup
Held on Tuesday mornings from 9.30am - 11.30am in the Hall offering a
pre-school program for children and their parent/s, grandparents or guardians. A great opportunity to meet other young parents, have fun and make friends. Come and see Chris and the team. You will be made to feel so welcome.
Sociable Seniors

The Sociable Seniors group has been led by Pastor Max Prentice for 14 years. He has now retired from this position. We welcome Brian and Yvonne Edson as they take over leadership of the group. The Sociable Seniors group provides spiritual support as well as social contact for seniors 55 years and over. The group meets on Thursdays 12midday to 3pm. |
